Ms. Deborah Scroggins, managing editor, research and analysis chief of the U.S. Congress’s Special Inspector General for Afghanistan Reconstruction (SIGAR), came to Istanbul to interview me about my book (“Two Kings, One Leader”) and to get my views on the current situation in Afghanistan. She also mentioned that she is working on a compilation book about my aunt, the late Queen Soraya, and would like to have a conversation with Princess Nagia if possible.

On this occasion, we all gathered at our home for lunch with my wife Melike’s delicious meals.

Ms. Scroggins is an expert and experienced researcher. She started the interview by asking me, “What would Mahmud Tarzi say about these days?” and we conducted a comparative analysis of the “Then” and “Now” (an important section title in my book) timelines for about 3 hours. With the content and special nature of the interview, I hope it was a useful interview for her and the institute. I was also very pleased to meet her and to have a meeting with such sincere approaches.

خانم سکروگینز یک محقق ماهر و با تجربه است. او مصاحبه را با این سوال آغاز کرد که محمود طرزی در مورد این روزها چه خواهد میگفتند؟ و ما یک تحلیل مقایسه ای از جدول زمانی «آنوقت» و «اکنون» (عنوان بخش مهمی در کتاب من) را برای حدود سه ساعت انجام دادیم. با محتوا و خاص بودن مصاحبه، امیدوارم مصاحبه مفیدی برای ایشان و مؤسسه بوده باشد. من همچنین از ملاقات با او و برگزاری جلسه با چنین روش صمیمانه بسیار خوشحال شدم
